4If it were only a little biggerMay 16, 2007

Easy to install. Quick release makes it easy to get on and off. Side pockets are great for cell phones and cameras, front pocket great for wallet and keys. Does not bounce around as much as other handlebar bags. The padding/insulation takes away precious space from the main compartment and the space fills up fast. If it was 2-3" wider and deeper, and didn't have all that padding, it would be a perfect handlebar bag.

3Good bag, but irritating drawbacksApr 26, 2009
By Mark J. Anspacher
I have been using the Topeak TourGuide on my commuter for two years.

Pros: Quick release system; carry handle; removable shoulder strap; plenty of room for necessities and more; QR bracket includes removable light mount; included hi-vis rain cover; reflective blinky mount on front; top weatherproof map pocket.

Cons: Mounting system produces a VERY high center of gravity - handlebars are always off balance (this is especially bothersome while attempting to attach panniers to the rear rack, as the handlebars tend to heel to one side or the other and tip the bike); the top of the bag sits so high above the mounting system that the included light mount is nearly useless - any normal headlight will not rise above the top of the bag.

The Bottom Line: This is a nice occasional or daytime bag, but be prepared to jump through some hoops if you plan to use it at night with a headlight - it is VERY difficult to get the light to extend above the top of the bag!. Also, if you plan to use it with heavy rear panniers, attach them FIRST, and then attach this bag (or buy a handlebar holder to stabilize like the Park Tool HBH-2 - but who in their right mind wants to carry THAT extra weight around?).

5nice bagOct 01, 2008

I love the bag. It is well built and mounts well. I didn't even know about the mount adapter for phone and bike computers that comes with it. Very smart. In case you are confused it is just a tube, the same diameter as your handle bar, that attaches to the top of the mount so that the space taken up by the bag and mount on the handle bar is recouped. Like a bar extender that sits up off the bar an inch or so. I pull a tape measure out every time I shop on line and try to envision the size of these products but I am never quite sure. I was afraid it would be too big and so turned away from the DX. It is not that big, but is big enough. Imagine one of those soft sided lunch boxes. About that size.

5Storage rulesOct 01, 2008

Clear pocket on top holds my cellphone great, I use the GPS function that way, WAY better than a map. Upside, holds a LOT ... downside, doesn't leave much room on the handlebars for anything else, like a light. Had to move my light to the fork. Still a great buy.

5Handle Bar BagJun 05, 2009
By Richard A. Galvez
This product was very easy to install, and it has enough pockets to fit the most demanding individual. It has pockets for glasses, a nice transparent map holder, compartments for cell phones, suntan lotion, snacks, and even a water bottle. It even has a waterproof cover. I highly recommend this product.
