Does no good on the side of the street.Jun 02, 2008

These bags are waterproof- true enough. And they have convenient shoulder straps, etc. But mine constantly fall off my bike....if I hit a bump or something. Maybe they just aren't all the compatible with my bike rack, but I think there is some sort of design flaw that one needs to be aware of when making the choice to buy these. Also, they somehow seem really small, too. I still use mine everyday, but I have to strap 'em on and pack everything in really tight. If i knew then what i know now, I would've gone with a different bag.

Good quality pannier bags for reasonable priceMar 19, 2008

I bought these bags about 1.5 months ago. They are sturdy and fit well on my bike, I don't see them flying off on a bumpy road. The only aspect of these bags I worry about is the waterproofing, I wonder how long they will stay watertight while in daily use. Anyway, so far so good, they are still like new after 1.5 months of almost daily use (commute to work).

So far, so good. Can fall off on big bumps, but mostly secure.Aug 12, 2008
By S. Kallshian A few times when riding on the sidewalk at 15+ mph there were driveway bumps that made one of my panniers fall off. They feel quite secure, but are not impervious to shifting and bouncing. That being said, they protected all my gear inside very well, including my laptop! (which had its own protective case.)
They eventually get a bit scratched up from hitting bushes and things along your route, but that's to be expected. I still think they look great, they are definitely waterproof (Seattle tested and approved) and they have reflective markers for safety. Also, they are pretty easy to carry around when you get off your bike. They come with shoulder straps, but I haven't used those yet.

Poor quality, hold less than statedApr 01, 2011
By S. Moortel I have embarked on a cycling ride through Vietnam. Only three days into using these panniers (and with a couple of months still ahead), the following happened:
- one of the strap attachments fell off (and others will follow soon since they seem to be simply glued to the side of the bags)
- the fabric of the bag tore at one of the screws, making the bag come loose. I taped some gaffa tape over the hole on both sides, put the screw through again and this seems to work a bit. However, they are no longer waterproof and I doubt they will last me another 2 months.
- the hook spacers almost immediately fell out after removing the bags. Just one left now and just waiting for it to go.
Also I think they're a bit awkward to put on the rack and lastly: this is not 42 litres and you definitely cannot fit 42 litres in them if you want to lock the straps! The pictures also make them look larger than they are. In fact you can compare them to front panniers.
Next time I'm going with Ortlieb. I have heard little to no complaints about that brand.

Much smaller than advertised.Mar 14, 2011
By Gene The product description states that the capacity is 42L, which would place it squarely in the company of most rear panniers. Not so. The actual item is sized almost exactly the same as a 25L pair of front panniers I have. Other reviewers stated that it was smaller than expected, but I didn't realize just how much so. If you're looking for a pair of waterproof front panniers you may be happy with this item. But I need rear panniers so back they go.
