Good light, bad mounting systemMay 28, 2008
By Ronald Dorenbos The light seems to be fine. Four options: solid, fast flash, slow flash, and alternate. I only used it for a day, because during my second trip the light just jumped off the mounting system and the car behind me drove over it. The mounting system is not suitable for the heavier 5" light. A bad design of Sigma. I always enjoyed Sigma's products, but I wouldn't recommend this one, unless you secure the light yourself with tape, rope or glue to the mounting system.

useful & cute!Jul 16, 2010
By Alexandra Cassie LOVE this light! super bright, even during the daytime. it's really wide, which adds to its visibility, and has fun retro styling. the reviewer who said their light flew off the mounting was using it improperly-- the light can be removed to replace the batteries or whatever, and when you slide it back in the mounting you have to make sure it clicks or it's just kind of sitting there and it WILL fly off. mine has stayed sturdily mounted on my bike so far. there's a big rubber button on the back to turn it on or off or switch through the different modes (flashing, steady, or sequential) that's easy to press. price is great.

Great product for the priceSep 12, 2009
By The Edge Part 2 If you're looking for an inexpensive, bright, functional rear light for your bicycle, this is it. I like the design and it's great if you don't have much vertical space between the tire and your seat (or in my case, the tire and my seat bag). The hardware is easy to mount to the back or your seat post and the light can be detached from the mounting hardware. Unlike some other lights I have, the light clips into the mounting hardware and is still easy to remove.
I would have given it 5 stars except I'm not sure how it will hold up to more abuse in off road situations. The mounting hardware is made of plastic and seems durable, but I will find out after more prolonged use. It is bright and cars can see you from a good distance, so far I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
UPDATE 01/2011
Now I have something else to compare this bike tail light too, the Planet Bike Blinky 3 LED... so here some comparison details. While the Blinky 3 LED is hands down a brighter, further reaching light, this light has it's benefits! For one, the Blinky only has two modes - steady on and fast flash; while the Sigma has 4 modes - steady on, fast flash, slow flash, and rotating flash (it has 5 led bulbs lined up in a row, where the center, two next to center, and two furthest from the center light up alternatively). I like the change the mode depending on how fast I'm going. It's also slightly easier to change the mode while sitting on the bike, and well, if you care about looks, in my opinion this light has got the looks! Oh, and as mentioned that in comparison to the Blinky, the Sigma isn't as bright or as far reaching - the only real difference would be during daylight hours, otherwise the Sigma's light travels a significant distance so cars can see me from a more than adequate distance. Lastly, I've had this Sigma for 1+ years wth no problems, battery life lasts forever, and the mounting hardware shows no signs of failure or weakness yet.

Great Product - Easy to UseAug 05, 2008
By Sasquatch I purchased 3 of these for my kids bikes. I also have a couple of other flashing tail lights. The Tailguard is much brighter than the others. The mounting is also handy. After attaching the mount to the seatpost it only takes a second or two to mount the light. This allows me to keep the lights out of my kids hands (save batteries) until we need them. There is a single button to cycle through the different options. The belt clip can also be handy when I want to go for a run.
To summarize: the light is bright, easy to install, easy to use, and versitile. Not too expensive either.

False advertisingDec 08, 2009
By William R. Walder This company said the Tail Guard could be mounted in several different places including the rear of a bike rack, the reason I purchased it but it can not. It is made to only attach to the seat post. I was going to return the item but first I wrote the company and the said it could be attach to the rear of a bike rack and they would send me a picture. So having good faith I opened the product box and now I can't return it..,. They did send me a picture showing the light taken apart but not how you would attach it... I wrote again and told them I needed something else in order to attach it to my rear rack. Their reply was that it was in the mail but nothing ever came and I gave up on them. I then took the light apart and rigged it up with washers, a bolt and nut so I could attach it to the rear rack.
Needless to say I will never do business with this company again. I also told them I would give them a bad review if they wouldn't help me but apparently that didn't bother them but perhaps it will bother you...
