I've been using this derailleur for the past 9 months. It's resistant - I fell twice, and no miss-adjustments on the shifting even shocking the derailleur against the ground. The top-normal (Rapid Rise) design works really good with the Deore 2-Way Rapid Fire. Great deal for the price.
