Had to return it :-(Feb 11, 2008
By AmazonReviewer I was quite hopeful about this product but could not get it to pick up the heart rate consistently. I tried wetting it, adjusting it, etc. but nothing seemed to work too well. I was getting more of a workout trying to get it to work than actually getting any exercise in!
1 function buttonMay 10, 2011
By Lis I've used heart rate monitor watches with straps without a problem. This one is a problem. It has only one function button. The way to start the heart rate monitor is to press the function button once. The way to start the timer is to hit the function button once. The theory is: If the strap could pick up my heart rate, then the watch would automatically defer to the strap over the timer. At this moment, I have spent 1/2 hour trying to activate the hr monitor; all I see is the timer every time. But because the strap is not picking up my heart rate... {I'm now looking at the watch) Oh, wait... here it is! Now, I'm going to go for my first run with this watch/monitor. Regardless of whether or not it finally works, I'm going to return it. The start was much too difficult. Come to think of it... there was no way my heart rate was 146 while typing! I have a resting heart rate of 40. And now, I see, there is no heart rate showing on the monitor anymore. It's gone; Nothing except the time. I think I'll leave it at home and avoid the frustration on this run. Polar, I'm comin' back!
Dead Heart Rate MonitorDec 22, 2008
By Lawrence Guinchard SIGMA PC3 Heart Rate Monitor Watch: heart monitor function dead on arrival. Query with the sales source leads to manufacturer's 800 number; messages left--no response. So much for Sigma.
