Disappointing...Sep 12, 2009
By The Edge Part 2 Well, perhaps you get what you pay for. I can say that in the dark, I can see my front tire really well! The light on this is fairly dim, it floods about 10 feet in a semi-circle in front of you. It is my first bike light so I can't compare to others, but I'm going to need another front light with a longer beam in order to properly see the road in front of me.
The mounting is alright, but it's twist on/off feature is almost as disappointing as the lack of power on the light. It rotates on/off but doesn't really snap/clip into place, and a slight sideways bump can knock it off easily. I'm using a Velcro strap to make sure it doesn't come off from any accidental bumps.

nice city lightSep 23, 2009
By jaymac Not for the open road but if you need a reasonably priced light for city riding this is it ! I bought one for my daughter's bike and liked it so much that I bought one for my boy's girlfriend's bike. Then, the light on my wife's bike went bad and I bought another one for her bike ! That makes 3 so far . Best buy for the money in my opinion.

Great light.Aug 03, 2010
By Mike Angeli I like it a lot. Lightweight, easy to mount, quick release, handles weather and it needed new batteries when I received it, but last quite long on new batteries. A little narrow on the light spread, kinda like a flashlight. Slightly convex L.E.D. placement would be better but for the money. Very nice.

Doesn't work with rechargeable batteriesNov 13, 2010

Unfortunately, when I tried to use rechargeable batteries the light didn't work AT ALL. This is because rechargeable AAA batteries give 1.2V each instead of 1.5V. Most electrical devices will still function with this slightly reduced voltage but not these lights!!! So now I will change them. I bought this light for city cycling. I think the beam is OK (with 3x standard 1.5V AAA batteries) but as mentioned by other reviewers it might not produce a strong enough beam to illuminate the road for some cyclists.
how do you change the batteries?Jan 09, 2012
