great tire for the priceJun 12, 2008
By Valentin Avksentyev Definitely not a fast tire by any means, but has excellent grip. This tire is perfect for transforming a universal bike into a more of an mtb cycle.

Fine cyclocross tire for experimentingJul 27, 2007
By C. R. Smith Bought primarily to put more tire between the ground and my flat-bar road bike rims when riding gravel roads and easier trails. Be aware that it will increase rolling resistance and decrease traction and stability on pavement. If you have a road bike and want to make it a little more versatile, this is a great tire. It should be fine for a cyclocross as well, which is what it's made for.
Traction at a good price!Mar 23, 2012
By Shawn K I rode these on my cyclocross bike in a 30 mile Mountain bike race. Work great for looser terrain like mud/ sand mixes. Have no problem on rocky terrain either. Don't have concern when cornering at high speeds. True to size.
Great all purpose tireMar 16, 2012
By Mike L After buying a dedicated road bike my hybrid became a general purpose bike which included off road use. The hybrid tires were not good off road so I tried these and so far I am impressed. The grip is great in mud, grass and snow and roll quietly on dry pavement. There is plenty of space between the lugs to prevent mud loading. I was planning to give 4 stars since I don't know how well they will wear, but at this price if I only get one season I'll still be happy.
good price, but hard to like much elseFeb 23, 2012
By Colin Locke I ran this tire about 200 miles on the road and another 100 on gravel, cross-country and technical singletrack trails. I never used it in mud, which might be the best environment for this tire.
The main problem is the tread is very pliable. It isn't firm at all, and this leads to squirm that you can really feel on roads and hard-packed gravel. I had very little cornering confidence. Even pumped up to max pressure, which usually is not necessary or a good idea, they rolled slowly.
Poor puncture resistance-- if you run over a goathead thorn, you're going to get a flat. (I resolved this by installing Mr. Tuffy Bicycle Tire Liner which I highly recommend for everyone.)
You can't get hardly any other tires at this price, but I couldn't live with the performance and removed them. I'm now far happier with Schwalbe Smart Sam HS 367 Performance Cross/Hybrid Bicycle Tire - Wire Bead.
