A K-Rad RideMay 12, 2009

Needed a street tire for my mountain bike to put in road miles. With the higher PSI, these tires have less rolling resistance and less rolling noise. These have good road grip, especially around the hilly roads and around corners. If you are looking for a commuting tire or a free style tire, the K-Rad is it.

K-rad tireJun 16, 2009

its a great tire for most people. myself, Im on the road most of the time and only the occasional trail. Ive tried slicks too but they are too skiddish for me. The slicks have very little traction and make the bike more twitchy as well. I think the wider tire also allows for a bit of give, little more cushy, better traction and they can handle day to day bumps as well as trails. Lets face it, if you are going to be knee deep in mud, you are going to end up carrying your bike.
the only downfall of the tires is that all of a sudden, they have skyrocketed in price! I bought a set just last year for like 8 or $9.00 per tire. Now they are like 25.per tire but I sold my last bike with them on it! had I know, I would have stripped them off! how can they jump near 300% in under a year? In fact I would doc a star due to the price jump but I can't now that I have voted.

made my mountain bike a beach cruiserAug 31, 2011
By tinybox I bought a used mountain bike this summer to ride to the beach for some surfing every morning. It came with some very nice looking, low resistance mountain bike tires on it when I got it, but I blew a sidewall goofing around. And since the bike is something of an antique, I could not find an identical replacement. So I decided to score these instead. They are awesome in every way I require. They have low rolling resistance for going fast on the pavement (I pass cars); they are wide enough to float over sand patches as I near the beach (though I avoid outright sand for the sake of the chain); and they offer my old stiffy frame and fork a degree of suspension, which has opened up a whole new terrain to my meandering style.

makes it go FASTER!Jul 19, 2011
By captain murfin My Haro Railer SS came stock with these on it, but the shop put some WTB knobbies on it when I picked it up. BAD move! With the stock Kenda K-Rad tires it is almost HALF as hard to pedal around town! I actually thought my bike was broken, it was so much harder to pedal without the K-Rads on.
Not only that, but these "street" tires resist punctures better than the heavy, slow, "off-road" knobbies. I would have given this tire 5 stars, but the price has TRIPLED in just a couple of years. This is a great tire for up to $10. I'm not sure it's worth $25 or more. At that price I start drooling over the FatFranks. ;-)

Best knobby tiresDec 21, 2010
By technosprout Low rolling resistance, can be taken off road. Smooth on payment.
I have used the tires for quite a while. They are comfortable and quick.
