almost perfectJun 02, 2010
By Captain Tetanus I really like these. I've had big metal pannier baskets in the past and didn't want those again because they must always be on and they're so big and heavy and I have a nice aluminum frame bike and want to keep it nice and light and as sleek as possible. Also, I wanted something I could just toss stuff into and not have to worry about it falling out through the holes. These baskets go on and off easily, they're well made of quality materials. They are very sturdy, the sides are meshy but not quite as see through as the picture makes them look. I wish the hooks were a little more secure--not that I have much trouble with them. They're little rubber coated metal hooks that hook pretty securely onto a rack platform. The only issue is if you happen to kick them, sometimes one of the little hooks will come off. I rarely kick them anymore, but I did sometimes when I was first getting used to having them. It's easy enough to do getting on or off the bike.
They flatten down nicely and snap into place. They have a shoulder strap for carrying as a bag, but I'm not fond of that. What I'd like is if it had two handles to carry like a basket. You see the one handle sticking up on the picture and that's all it has is one. I'm going to make a second handle for mine. It really should have two, and this feature is the main reason I'm giving the basket a 4 rather than 5 star rating. I grocery shop with these, and sometimes take blankets to the laundromat, so two handles would be very helpful.
They hold a lot. They are sturdy and durable. I do recommend these.

great, no problemsJan 28, 2010
By Lucius Schoenbaum i haven't seen everything out there but i have one of these and it works great - be sure to get a rack with a place to hook on your pannier(s) and you're set. it's durable, feels/looks good, and best of all, very...i guess the word is "capacious". you can take it off your bike and into the store, use it to shop - that's cool. :-)

Big enough to hold my backpack!Mar 06, 2012
By H. Easter I bought the Jandd GBP in order to carry my backpack while biking--I often have a lot of stuff in my bag, and riding with it on my back gives me an uncomfortably high center of gravity. The Jandd is one of the few panniers on the market that's big enough to fit my backpack, including laptop, and let me feel secure that it will stay in there. I bought a beefier rack than my original one because I found that, when heavily loaded, the pannier would sometimes swing into the spokes. So I bought a rack that had multiple side stays, and that problem has never recurred.
I really like the attachment methods on the Jandd, and the fact that I can fold it up out of the way when I'm not using it. It's visually unobtrusive, seems very durable, and works well. I'm a big guy (6'0" and size 13 feet), and I can still adjust the pannier so I don't hit it with my heels while pedaling.
Bottom line, it's light, durable, big, and easy to use. I love it!
