I exchanged the old brake fluid in my CR as soon as I recived this. The brakes function well, after fluid replacement. This DOT 5.1 smells much better than the origin fluid in my brake, and doesn't corrode the paint on both lever and caliper. It can be easily cleaned by water or alcohol. Great brake fluid!

I've used Finish Line DOT 5.1 fluid for Avid brakes and it has worked fine. According to my literature review, DOT 5.1 has the highest boiling point of all DOT fluids so if you use brakes on long downhills you should use this. Do check with your brake manufacturer for compatibility as some brakes use mineral oil and it makes a terrible mess if you mix them.
