Have had this product for more than 1 year. I'm an avid cyclist, 3 times a week, over 3,000 miles a year (OK, I'm retired) During the summer most of my cycling is on country roads so it's imperative that I see what's coming before I hear it. It works well once you get used to it. First you must set it up on your helmet. With some of today's designs this takes some thought, but stick with it (no pun intended). Then you must position it so it doesn't block your forward vision. Practice around the house or walking outdoors until you feel comfortable. The mirror arm is quite flexible & strong so it's easy to move. The oval shape gives a large view & the mirror design increases the depth of field to make it easy to see the approaching objects.As well the mirror itself swivels making it adjustable for anyone. If you have to move it to another helmet I found that several layers of 2 sided thick carpet tape worked just fine to secure the base. The mirror which snaps on a little ball joint at the end of the arm became sloppy so I wrapped a small piece of painter's tape around it. It's quite strong though as I found out when I took a tumble off my mountain bike. I cracked my helmet & ribs but the mirror stayed on in one piece. Would highly recommend this safety device to any cyclist whether you bike on roads or just a neighborhood trail. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars as I feel you should be able to order additional arms and or mirrors as needed.

I've had two of these and both failed in the stem area after 3-4 months of fairly heavy use. Had to glue to the helmet with contact cement.
Worked pretty well until the stem failures. Mirror should be a little larger.

The mirror-on-a-stick design looks silly, but it works. Using the mirror is simple and natural enough that I often look for it by reflex when walking down the road, without my bike helmet. Installation and adjustment are both easy - the flex in the shaft does make a difference.
The ball-and-socket joint at the end of the arm does wear out with time, letting the mirror swing out of alignment. I tighten mine up by forcing a piece of plastic tubing over the socket housing.

I was a little hesitant to do this review until I had used this item for a while, and fully gave it a chance since the first time I took it out of the package, I was manually moving the mirror around to see its range of motion and it came off in my hand. Not a good way to start a consumer/product relationship. Still I gave it a chance as I was in need of a mirror, and was excited to finally have one. The "assembly" was easy enough, pretty much peel and stick. Although if you have a helmet with no flat areas at least an inch wide, it may not work. It BARELY fit on my Giro helmet, but its stuck tight ever since so no complaints there.
If you are careful not to turn the mirror to a completely 'landscape' type orientation you have a pretty large area you can cover with the mirror. It's easy enough to adjust during a ride, and has saved my butt more than once already. I probably would have made the mirror more wide than tall if I had designed it, but it still serves it's purpose. I'd say my biggest gripe about the product is the hinge, once again. Not only does it come off in your hand from time to time, but if you are facing a particularly bad head wind, the mirror re-adjusts itself. One minute you are fighting against mother nature, the next you look up and all you can see is the ground. Not cool. Overall, I think it serves it's purpose and helps greatly, although I think the hinge could have been a little better.

It's a great little mirror, but won't stick to my helmet. You need a flat area about two inches square, where you want to mount it. Also, the glue failed to stick to my plastic hard shell helmet. I would guess it's fine for styrofoam helmets.
