3Wanted to make this work...Jun 30, 2008
By Les
I agree with the previous poster - these bags are great, easy to take on and off, and shop in the store. I bought a rack made by the same company (an Axiom Odyssee)to minimize any attachment problems.

Problem was, no matter what adjustments I made the back of my heel hit the front of the bag when it was full of groceries. I took it to a bike dealer to see if I'd mounted the rack or the bag incorrectly - they were unable to get it to work either. I would have had to modify the back top clip in order for it to fit into the farthest back space on the bike rack. (back clip was too wide to fit in the back-most space)

I had a choice, I could either change racks - which I did not want to do -(really like the rack) or change the bag. I opted to change the bag to the Axiom Seymour Panniers, which are sold in a set. In fact I got the set of two Axiom Seymour Panniers for the same price as one of the Axiom Hunter bags.

I miss the grocery sack style and size of the Hunter bags, not to mention the ease of shopping in the store with them.

I do not miss my heel hitting the bag on every rotation.
I also like the fact that these bags have a top cover that keeps things in the bag and protects them some from the elements.

Summary: If you buy the Axiom Hunter bags make sure that your rack allows them to be attached far enough back. Also be aware that you may want to address the issue of the top being totally open while you are riding.

4Great buy for the $Feb 01, 2009
By T. Becker
I use these bags to carry way to much stuff on my commute to work and school and they work great. I ride to the light rail which has ceiling hooks to hang your bike by the front tire, which means I have to take the bags off when I'm on the train. This also means that sometimes I have about one minute to remove my bags and get on the train. They are easy to take on and off quickly and are still very secure on the bike.
I will look into adding some sort of fastener to the top of the bag though to help keep it tucked in close to the bike when I have a lot of weight in it. Sometimes when I have a heavy load (and by heavy load I mean approximately 25-30 lbs)the bag tends to sag open. I am not at risk of loosing anything, I would just prefer to reduce my overall width.
All in all, great buy and would highly recommend.

5great bike bagJun 14, 2007

This is by far the best bike bag we've ever owned...and we've owned many! Very easy to take on and off. A paper grocery sack fits in perfectly. In fact, we had bought one of these at a bike store that only had one in stock and were so pleased with it we ordered a second through an Amazon supplier.

4Does the job it's intended to doSep 10, 2008

These bags are working fine for me for commuting to work and the grocery store. I bought the "Axiom Odyssee Rear Suspension Bike Rack" at the same time, as I saw the previous post about pedaling and hitting the bag. This rack sits further back over the rear tire then others, and I haven't had any problems with it.

After 2 months of ownership, I just realized there were sleeves in each side of the bag where you could fit these hard-plastic supports. Now the bags aren't so floppy when filled with groceries. Call me slow, but instructions would've been nice.

Other than that, these are winners.

4Easy to snap on. Needs a net?Jul 13, 2008
By Tahoe Wino
I bought two of these for my grocery store runs. They easily snapped onto an Axiom Odyssee Rear Suspension Bike Rack that I also bought. No problems with my heels hitting the pack while riding.

It was pretty nice to walk into my grocery store with one of these on my shoulder and shop directly into the pack. I didn't use a paper sack and found that I needed to distribute the load into both packs to prevent things from bouncing out on the ride home. I'm thinking of trying a little bungee net to go over these in the future.
