Great purchase!May 12, 2007
By Nancy B. Purchased this bag with the matching rack for our second bike, so now both my my husband and I both have one. We enjoy riding long distance charity road rides, and this set-up is perfect: take extra energy bars, ibuprofen, another T-shirt, or stash extra clothing. At home, my husband will make a run to the grocery store on his mountain bike, slip the bag off his rack, and pack it up in the store, slip it back on outside, and away he goes. It can be switched from bike to bike easily enough, and you look nice enough that we've been asked where we got ours. Like I said, the fact that we're on our 2nd rack and bag should be proof enough that this is a winning combo.

Great Bike TrunkAug 02, 2006

This trunk bag works SO well! I commute by bike, and this bag is so easy on and off. It holds all of my "stuff" and lunch besides. Great design, roomier than it looks, and good looking besides-it's perfect.

Topeak MTX Trunk Bag EXJun 16, 2008
By K. Stuckey

I ordered this bag the same day I ordered the Topeak Explorer Rack. I bought an entry-level Schwinn this spring in the face of $4 a gallon gas. I use my bike to commute (4 miles round trip), run errands around town (most everything within 7 miles one way), and short day rides. I would probably go with a bigger bag if I was doing longer trips. I like the zippered mesh pockets on the outside for things like granola bars, my poncho, and tools. The inside can fit a couple of books, an extra bottle of water, a towel, and my camera for a joy ride or a change of clothes and a pair of shoes for work. I wouldn't really expect to get $50 worth of groceries in it, but I have picked up the odd handful of items no problem. I detached the bag and carried it right into the store and didn't even have to bother with a plastic bag. It is not noticeable as far as weight, but I have not really pushed the 55 pound limit for the rack. A nice bag for the beginner, but more serious riders may want more.

Quality, Function, Looks.Jan 07, 2009
By TerryK Impressive quality and good looking but a tad bit smaller than I thought it would be. I'm keeping it though as I can fit everything that I will generally need to bring with me for trail rides. I bought it to go with the "Topeak Explorer Bike Rack" as it is a system and the bag slides and latches directly onto the rail built into the rack. Very nice.
For comparisons sake here's what I fit into the bag: Two 1/2L bottles of water, keys, extra t-shirt and lightweight shorts, gloves, baseball cap (collapsed), small tool kit, sunglasses, bug spray & sunblock (small travel bottles), mini u-lock & cable and the shoulder strap that is included with the bag. In the mesh side pockets I keep my tire pump, a couple of energy bars and a bag of beef jerky. And even with all that there is still a little room left over plus you can strap items to the top and sides utilizing the bungee and velcro straps provided.
All in all a very nice bag/rack system that I would heartily recommend.

Great bike bag but read below before buyingJul 21, 2007
By E. Goff This bike bag is used with their bike rack. So you really do need to buy both. What a great idea....a bike rack with a track that this bike bag slides onto. Great design and holds a lot of stuff. I keep my lock, tools, water bottle, sun screen inside. It does the job and more than I expected. Also priced right.
